I found this video today about Matthew Parr, a figure skater from Great Britain. He started figure skating at the age of 7 and will go on to be the youngest solo male figure skater on the GB team at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. I decided to share the video solely because of how he talks about the entire experience of figure skating. It’s all about a four minute performance that he worked for sixteen years to achieve. In the end, regardless of who you are or what you are doing, it’s all about persistence. That moment when all eyes are on you and you are in the zone, when everything becomes quiet and you give it all you got. It’s all that matters.
