For the last three years, the end of November in Bangalore has marked the arrival of one of the best organized music festivals in India, the NH7 Weekender.
This time around it is no different and with a bigger and mightier line-up, the Weekender promises to become better than ever before.
Like with every previous occasion, the Weekender has always found ways to surprise its guests either with a Ferris wheel or a Hot air balloon and with this edition of the festival, there’s no knowing what trick the guys at OML might just pull out! In any case, be prepared to witness branding, merchandise and partnerships that will amaze you. (The 2014 Weekender had a few Mercedes GLAs that were showcased and one was even painted on by an artist!)
With just a week’s worth of countdown remaining, no one can say what might happen at this year’s festival. The bold move of signing up A.R. Rehman for the festival is going to be awarded with a solid fan-club crowd that’s there just for his music. Other biggies like Mogwai, Fuzzy Logic, Clinton Cerejo, The Ganesh Talkies, and The F-16s are going to attract a great number of loyalists and aficionados. So there’s no doubt about how crowded the festival is going to get. With large-scale festivals such as these, a greater number of people at the venue only adds to the ambiance and the happy vibes and makes it a win-win situation for everyone.
With how every year a different (but not necessarily improved) stage layout is tried out, it is needless to remind yourself to sport comfortable footwear because a good amount of walking and perhaps, running from one stage to another will be involved. (Yes, we all ran to watch Mutemath!)
A general observation with every year of the festival has been the unexpected distribution of freebies and merchandise. While there is a greater chance of this happening on day 2 of the festival, keep your eyes and ears open to make sure you get your hands on some freebies because come on, who doesn’t like free stuff, right?
Most importantly, keep a track of the schedule at all times just so you don’t miss out on any of your favorite artists and make sure you are not too drunk, too tired or too obnoxious during the Weekender!
